A small, intentional practice, focused on making sophisticated spaces that root in their place. By remaining small, we seek to build lasting relationships with our clients that are as resilient as our buildings. We delight in finding simple, elegant design solutions to complex project briefs. Our expertise ranges from custom legacy family homes to large commercial and multifamily projects, and complex historic restorations and renovations. We seek to marry a creative design sensibility with technically excellent building envelope design and construction methodologies with an aim to reduce the embodied and operational carbon in our built environment. 

OUR HISTORY

Founded in 1990 by Priscilla Zimmerman, the practice has spent over 35 years creating refined custom residences and unique place-making commercial projects in Washington state, British Columbia and beyond.

As the practice transitions to a new chapter, under the leadership of Henry Zimmerman, we seek to continue our legacy of thoughtful architecture, excellence in execution, and integrity while meeting the needs of the future. Moving forward the practice will focus on sustainable architecture by designing all projects as high-performance homes, with specialization in All-Electric Homes, Certified Passive Houses, Net-Zero, and Net-Positive buildings to ensure a resilient building stock for owners and the future.
